Hi everyone and welcome to my first N.C.L.’s Corner! I will be doing reviews of some of the
matches each show so I hope you enjoy my insights and opinion. BTW, any cracks about my
corner will result in a serious beatdown!!
This time in the corner I will review the title matches.
HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
MELISSA COATES vs. KARINA NASCIMENTO(C)
Great match we had here between two powerhouses. Melissa tried everything she could to put
the champ down, but it was not to be as the Brazilian Bombshell put the arrogant challenger down.
It wasn't over though. We have our first run in as Andrea Palazvelos comes out and destroys the
champion for House of Pain keeping the Latinas at bay. If not for Denise Masino, who knows
what would have happened. The House of Pain better watch out because the Latinas are looking
for them. A great match and a great win for the champion ends in tragedy. I really hate run ins!
UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
MsCHIF vs. DINA AL-SABAH (C)
Dina, a personal favorite of mine, defending her US title against MsChif. It was a good match with
Dina controling much of the action. MsChif showed great resilience by kicking out of The
Groundbreaker. MsChif looked like she was about to go down to the Desert Driver when MsChif
countered out of it beautifully, but then took the short cut and sprayed the green mist into the
eyes of the champion causing the DQ. Dina retains her title, but MsChif was not done. MsChif,
with the help of her partner Melissa Anderson, assulted the champion. Like what happened
during a lot of the matches during the show, a two on one beatdown started and ended with the
champion being DDTed into a glass water pitcher. The busted open champion was saved by
Christie Ricci who ran off the cowardly attackers.
The injured champion will attempt to take revenge on MsChif and Melissa when she teams up with
Timea Majorova (my favorite wrestler BTW) at Law and Order. My only concern is how will Timea
and Dina get along with their competing egos. If they can get along, nothing could stop this team.
If they can't get along, Dina and Timea will beat the hell out of each other by the end of the
match. I can't wait to see what they do as my two favorites team up.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
GAIL KIM vs. OCEAN BLOOM (C)
This was a great match. Ocean was surprised by her mystery opponet. Kim fought a hell of a
match and took a lot of punishment. Ocean got her down though, but no ref for the champion.
She had her and lost it. Kim comes back in unbelieveable fashion and catches the champ in the
Korean Deathlock. Ocean after the beating she had taken also cannot break the hold and
passes out. Gail Kim, the unlikely challenger, is now the World Champion. She was bleeding and
hurt, but left with the gold. But for how long can Gail hold the title against the great talent of the
AFW?
Great win for Gail. Hail the new champion!
